Well hello! It’s been a hot minute, hasn’t it?
And things may look a little different than last time as I’ve switched not only my newsletter platform but also my entire website over to Substack. I made this decision for a few reasons, even in the face of Substack’s moderation controversy:
Ease of having everything in a single place.
Built-in audience/algorithm.
To gain working experience on the platform for my day job.
As well, my newsletter itself will always be free and include project updates, writing lifestyle content, and publishing resources. I’m also working on paid tiers to include things like pet/plant parent updates, exclusive poetry, direct advice access, and maybe even some audio recordings.
If you would rather not be subscribed to my newsletter, for whatever reason, that link should be in the footer of this email. No hard feelings, I promise, but I hope you stick around.
Now for the good stuff.
A lot has happened since I last emailed you. Here’s a non-inclusive list in no particular order:
Tilting Gravity celebrated one year since its publication!
Submitted poetry to a journal I admire for the first time in years!
A secret video game project is almost ready to go to Kickstarter!
Moved back to Indiana!
Started drafting the follow-up to Tilting Gravity!
A fun, vague publishing thing is in my inbox at the moment!
Depending on what happens in November, I plan to return to school for a Master's in Library and Information Science degree in 2025… Or I’ll be moving to either Europe or Canada. We shall see.
A lot of new things and new chapters, to say the least. Like the cicadas, I feel I am shedding my shell and screaming all the while. I’ll share more directly in future mailings.
Currently…

The Sims 4! I splurged before the move and bought myself a bunch of expansions I didn’t have. I love how chaotic the University expansion can be.

My birthday! I created a little wishlist over on Bookshop.org if you’d like to browse and maybe buy me a book. Click here2.
This is an affiliate link through Bookshop.org. If you follow this link and purchase this/a book, you will be directly supporting a local bookstore, Indy Reads, and myself.
Ditto.
