I am so, so glad you didn't kill Mott. I'm pretty sure I almost had a panic attack or something when he nearly died. I was so sure he was gonna die and I swore to myself I was literally never going to pick the book up again if Mott was killed off. He's my favorite character Thank you for the whole series and for keeping Mott in for the whole thing. It wouldn't be the same without him. He's like Jaron's Sam Gamgee. I hope you write more in the series as well and push forward for at least one movie. I am absolutely obsessed with the series but have hardly anywhere to vent my passion. Anyways, thank you, and God bless you!

Hi Mrs. Nielsen,
So sorry if I’m being annoying, but I have a question that I’ve been trying to get answered for a while now. I don’t know if maybe I’m not doing something right or what, but it never seems to come up after I post.

Due to the fact that Roden is taken from the Harlowe home at such a young age and the nanny dies, I assume the orphanage picks the name Roden for him. In which case, leads to my question. What is Roden’s given name by his parents, does Harlowe ever tell him of it, and if so, does Roden take it on as a middle name or something?

Wow, these insiders are just SO COOL!!!! You... you were going to kill Mott. *mouth drops open* But he's one of my absolute favorites. I am super glad Imogen saved Mott for us. The fandom owes her a lot. And I second what everyone else and your SiL says: Please, please, please with a cherry on top don't ever kill Mott. And even if The Shadow Throne's title has nothing to do with the plot, I still LOVE that book title!!!

In reply to digitsofpi. This is a very good point. However, he snuck out and remained at the shore to watch the ship sail. He would've seen the pirate ship launch in the direction of his own ship and he certainly heard the Avenians speaking about what had happened over the next several days.

Hi! I love your books. I’m just here to randomly point out a plot-hole-sorta-thing that I found in the first book. I’m not sure if you were aware of this or not, but if you are, sorry for wasting your time.

How would Jaron be able to provide evidence that Avenian pirates attacked the ship if he snuck out before the ship left?

I think that the key is like Jaron getting rid of the chains that held him in the past and freeing his country and himself
